I sold my BadElf to buy the Dual GPS because I was worried about braking both the GPS and the iPad if I were to hit it against something. I use this every day at work. I am a Flight Instructor and this has made my job easier. Thank you Steve Jobs and all the awesome app developers out there for making my life easier.
Works as promised.
Good Dual help with gps anything thank you
Took it out of the box, hooked it up, charged it up, pared it up with my iPad 2. Seems to work well with my ForeFlight app. Cant wait to take both of them up for a flight. Thanks.
Great job. Precision!!!
Since the update no data is shown, other than being connected
Works better than advertised! Super device and app!
Latest version hangs iphone requiring reboot. No image on app icon either.
Im using it now for a long drive across several states. Im using it with iPad3 (wifi only) and the TomTom app. I wish the app had a feature to allow me to save geolocation information. Otherwise, the app does exactly what it says it will do.
Dont waste your time with this app unless you have an xgps150.
Shows status of signal. Good to verify your unit is working properly. Used with Foreflight.
The Dual 150 universal outboard GPS receiver is a well engineered extension for iOS and other mobile devices, as well as Bluetooth enabled computers. This app shows constellation status and sets your device up for use with a multitude of capable navigation and route tracking applications. Simply – You need this app if you own a Dual XGPS150. Enjoy the road.
I just bought this gps and i downloaded this app but the thing is i cant work with it, im almost 2 days busy with it. Can someone tell me which apps or maps i should download in order to use it? I have wifi only ipas 2
I have been using the XGPS150A with mapmyfitness and Geocaching. Brings GPS to my iPod, LOVE that! No longer need to carry my handheld Garmin. Sometimes have problems getting the GPS to lock in the other apps but it USUALLY works. Would not work in mapmyfitness for a few days with iOS 6 but ok now.
So.... First of all. The guy that down voted this because you need the xgps150 to use this... Just wow. Lol. OK! This app is simple and amazing. Shows the connection to the GPS and the battery life, simple and easy. There is a current bug for some in iOS 6 that is making this not work for some. Restoring usually fixes it. Bummer.
This is the only app that can always read the device. After the iOS 6 upgrade apps wont connect reliably to the Dual unit. One app displays "Poor signal" and another wont display an error or work. I suspect the communication errors are iOS errors possibly outside the control of developers. But what is odd is that this app sees the GPS and reports a location but apps trying to read it cannot. Or at least cannot reliably read the device.
Works fine with my 1st gen ipad and their usb gps.
I made the mistake of getting the new iPad without cellular. I did not know that there was not a GPS chip in it. Kinda felt mislead. Anyways i got the XGPS150 and with this app I am very pleased. If you want a good Bluetooth GPS get the 150 and this app. Just remember you need a mapping app that has downloadable maps that can be used offline. I love having this huge screen running my maps.
Worked great with my iPod until the IOS 6 update. now nothing will connect except the Dual gps app. I had tried everything I can think of but to no avail. Hope they fix it soon.
